There hasn't been one council tenant I've ever spoken to in my 7 years as a councillor that has been satisfied with the situation. The tenants have been fobbed off over the years, the leaseholders are paying extraordinary service charges for little gain, and Sutton Housing Partnership is nothing less than a disaster.

Unfortunately it's a scorched earth policy, because if you take control of council fiscal restraints will probably mean that you can't do much to rectify the situation.Cllr David Picklesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28918367.post-66596024275692522212009-07-28T06:55:37.691+00:002009-07-28T06:55:37.691+00:00Well David

We were all persuaded to vote for it largely because the "salesman" advised us that the ALMO £££'s were already in the bag. This was patently untrue as, shortly after my election, I was briefed on the situation and told in no uncertain terms that no application had even been made for the funding. What are we to do now? Stock transfer has been done to death and now highly unpopular, an increase in Council Tax would be extremely unvoter friendly (election in 2010 as well!). The scenario is pure Fred KarnoCllr David Theobaldnoreply@blogger.com
